Au Pairs are not eligible for the same social benefits as permanent residents. Health care, disability coverage, and other benefits are provided if needed.
But to be safe and follow the law (all Au Pairs most have), au pairs must have a comprehensive private au pair insurance for au pair stays in Sweden. Host families are responsible for paying this insurance, which costs approximately 3500 SEK per year.

The following two insurance companies specialize in cultural exchange insurance. Alternatively, you may choose your own as long as they adequately cover the au pair.
